As part of our Lab’s mission, we hosted a workshop at the Universidad de Palermo, in order to develop new human-resources capable of inventing new ways of playing games.
In line with our mission, our Lab’s main goal is to research and develop innovations on how games are played. In this area, any playful activity in any existing platform is object of studies and invention. Here we promote academic activities for the study of the discipline and the development of human-resources.
For this matter, we are hosting a workshop at the design faculty of the Universidad de Palermo: El juego como forma. Its goal is to train students with basic knowledge of game analysis and development. At the end of the course, each student will present a Flash-based prototype of a game for a mobile device and/or PC.
The Form and the Game are the vertices of the conceptual axis of the course.
The elements of the game, its rules and its goals can be understood as entities with substance, capable of being determined, associated or transformed, like any other shape. This opens a range of possibilities for the appearance of original projects.
The workshop is an open environment where we generate the proper conditions for the appearance of authentic personal projects, which express a personal desire and/or vision. With this vision, we learn to develop a project in its different stages, through its different written, graphic and technological ways of modelling. In the process, we focus on deliberate thinking, especially strategic and creative thinking.
